My Best Fit

Yippee. It used to be so disheartening wandering around the stores, trying on clothes, getting frustrated and self-conscious in front of all of those beautiful pictures of perfect models in their perfectly-fitting outfits - but that’s all over! Now, I can use the ‘My Best Fit’ machine! In the middle of the mall, surrounded by perspex, as I wave my arms up and down before being told how many sizes I am above zero in not just one outfit, but in lots of different brands, all at the same time!

Daphne Guinness in Barneys Window

So Daphne Guinness plans to get dressed and ready for the Met Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala in the window of Barneys' Madison Avenue store on 2nd May. Now, I”m no expert in spatial planning and the social, economic and territorial transformation caused by the globalisation process and the paradigms that evolve as a result of the interplay of urban, environmental and other planning disciplines, particularly in the context of a city based on the HIppodamian plan, otherwise known as the gridiron plan; but surely most New Yorkers can see this sort of thing day or night, up close and personal, and from the comfort of their own apartment window?
